Now, i am pregnant for almost 18 weeks .We went to the doctor three times now.During my second visit (it was 13 weeks of pregnancy ), my doctor checked the heartbeat of my baby.I was kinda worried because it took so long to find the heartbeat of my baby.After couple minutes ago, finally we heard the heartbeat.I am so happy to hear it,i feel full of joy and excitement and can't wait.My husband and i are so happy.In my last visit which was last Monday, my ob/gyn checked the heartbeat again and thanks god we heard it right away and i feel more excitement. They get some blood on me to check if the baby is normal.Also, my ob/gyn checked the size of my tummy if it is on the right size.she said its perfect size. I am not really satisfied of what she said because i do not look pregnant at this time at all. I know that many women want to have nice figure but me i want to be look pregnant this time because it's now 4 months and one week in my pregnancy.I asked my ob/gyn that why is that i do not look pregnant and she just smiled and said that it's normal for women in the first pregnancy and i am thin so that's why.So she suggested that i must gain more weight like 8 pounds .I am now only 88 pounds.She said i must eat high calories and high proteins.now, i always eat every time and then.My husband forced me to drink this kind of high protein drinks that is really sweet for me.well, i think i need to ...hehehe. My husband always kids me about being underweight because a lot of people here that is overweight. When we arrived home,i asked to my husband "why is that your eyes is not blue and your brother's eyes is blue?because his eyes is kinda blue green but his brother's eyes has more blue..He just laugh. And today i asked it again.He is kinda irritated why i always asked.I just told him because i wanted that our child's is blue.Well it does not really matter i just love to kid him .He just laughed so much. We just always kid around have a lot of fun always.

went fishing

My husband and i went fishing last sunday.We went to the beach lake at our place and started fishing.Actually , we did not have the right lures.So we used the spinner instead of flies or small fishes like minols.I was kinda bored because we did not catch any fish at all at that lake.So what we did just took pictures.It is beautiful there .I remember the ocean in my home country.


So we decided to go to other lake .It took so long to catch fish. Finally couple minutes ago,my husband caught a fish.I was so happy.Here's the picture of my husband with a fish. After that we decided to go home.

I sign up for payperpost

Today is my one month of writing blog.I sign up for payperpost because i heard this a lot of my friends in reading their blogs that they signed up for payperpost and earned money.When i signed up for payperpost and registered my blog , actually they could not approved that time because they required that your blog must be one month old.So i waited that time and luckily today is my one month of writing blog.I tried to update at payperpost if they will approve my blog.Couple hours ago, i opened my email then i found out that my blog is approved. coconut tuba or coconut wine

As i look pictures in our computer ,i saw a lot of pictures that my husband took when we were in philippines. I found a lot of pictures and makes me so happy because i remember my memories when i was philippines.
I found theses pictures...










My husband took this picture when we went at our cabin and we saw my cousin did his job and making coconut "tuba".Well, what is "tuba"?It is a coconut drink or a wine that most bisaya people -(who lives in visayas region )drink this specially during feast or( fiesta).Also, mostly men drink this just for fun with friends with "pulotan" or something like delicacies like peanuts, chips or with meat specially grilled. I remember my father used to drink this kind of drinks because he was a tuba gatherer ("mananggiti or for plural manananggot"-bisaya term) before when he was stronger but he is old now not strong enough making on this. He used to drink this as a sustitute for water usually during late of the day. If you drink too much tuba you will get drunk because i remember my father sometimes he got drunk before.His day is not complete without this tuba.Making tuba is my brother's job. It is his job to earn money but not really much or it depends if you have a lot of coconut trees but it' so tiring if it's a lot.


Here is the process of making tuba.we cannot have tuba without getting from its source. As i mentioned above,it's obviously from the coconut.The coconut gatherer extracts the tuba from the unopened and young coconut bud that flowers into the fruit before it reaches its state of maturity. So what tuba gatherer do is slicing the buds with the use of" curve machete "( locally called saad)and try to figure out if the buds produce a juice or a nectar on them.After slicing the buds they put a container-made up of bamboo and tie -attached to the buds to fill it out .Tuba gatherer leaves for a day then come back and try to find out if the buds can produce.So if he find out that the coconut bud is good in producing, he can now make tuba on it.What my brother do is he puts a bark of mangrove species "tungog" or Rhizophora on the bamboo container .Sometimes he buys powder but usually he buys the bark one because it tastes better. What he did is buy the bark one and cut into finely- chopped with the use of machete or called "sundang".Tuba gatherers usually wake up very early like 4 or 5 in the morning . What they do in the morning is get the tuba that produced at night then slice a little bit on the bud then put some tungog on the bamboo container.after that they leave for a day then come back in late afternoon.they come back and just slice a little bit on buds because the buds will stop producing if they do not slice it. .so they will climb the coconut trees twice a day.If you are first timer in making tuba sometimes it tastes like vinegar but you will know better if you are patience to do it.
This is how it looks like . The mouth of the bamboo container covered with a piece of fibrous net of light brown stalks so that no insects and rain on it.
What tuba gatherers usually do is they wait for couple days to sell to the market for better taste and it colored red brown.My brother usually do is he waits one week then ready for the market. Last year, 6 gallons worth like 250 pesos or so...If the tuba gets really old it tastes best so people called it bahal or bahalina- local term.It is also best to mix with coke.

misunderstanding..a bouquet of flowers is the solution?

Last Monday, my husband and i had misunderstanding because i was mad at him. I just wanted to go to St.Paul, MN to buy some Filipino food. He did not want to go because he had something to do at his brother's farm (doing a garden) because he said it is the perfect time to do it. Actually, it was not his fault because before that time, i was planning to go with my friend but my friend of mine has cancelled. So i was trying to ask my husband to go but he refused. So i was really mad because i am really eager to eat some Filipino food. So I was really felt badly. I just started not to talk to him (my behavior is like this when i am mad) because i do not want to say something bad or yelling at him. But he does not like when i act like this. It irritates him. So what? grrrr! Just kidding!

Actually, he did not care about that time. He just went to the farm and does gardening. So i was alone that day. My mind still very angry called him on phone and was very angry. "My poor husband”. I said something bad but anyway not really bad. So, he came home at 5:30, still i do not talk to him .He just said something but still seems i did not hear anything (mabungol gani ka).Until bedtime we do not care each other and until the night was over and it’s Tuesday morning. He just woke up early and went to work then he did not say good-bye to me. I was feeling guilty so i was planning to be nice with him when he came home. So when he came home, he is also nice too. He just called me before he entered the door. It was just nice to hear. I just said, yes.. In nice voice. I am very surprised that he gave me flowers and a card. I just smile and say thank you. I never expect that he will give because it is really my fault. I am very happy to have such a wonderful husband. THANK'S GOD!

I remember last time (couple months ago) when my husband, my stepdaughter and me went to see a movie, WOW! It was really big (bigger than the ceilings of A house).That was the biggest theater i ever seen! It was so fun; it seems i was floating and seems i was in the movie .Isn't that amazing? I just wanted to take some pictures while the movie is showing but taking pictures is not allowed during showing time. It was a great time.

I really miss my home in Philippines. I miss my family so much. I always keep thinking to go for a vacation .Maybe because i really miss some of the food there but the problem is i have no greencard yet and we have no money for that matter as of now. I really miss the fresh ocean fish, fresh vegetables, jollibee (fast food like McDonalds) and andoks's letson manok, (roast pig or chicken) letson baboy.I could not find here in US. There is some ocean fish in Asian store but it is really different there because i used to have very fresh ocean fish .HUHUHU!
I really miss my mother so much. I love her so much. She is a very loving and caring mother. When i was sick last two months, i really remember her when she was taking care of me when i was with her and she was always cooking of my favorite food. Anyway, my husband also was taking care of me but i really miss her. How i wish that USA is closer in Asia.

food cravings?

Here are some food that i really want to eat always during my pregnancy.


Since i am Filipino , i love to eat Filipino food. i eat rice three times a day with these dishes.
1.eggs with tomato -

2.Salted shrimp -This is really salty but i really love it.This is tiny shrimp processed with salt.You can cook with vegetables called (pakbit)plenty of vegetables on it like eggplant,bitter melon,string beans,tomatoes, and other spices.yummy!



3.dried fish -This is dried fish.this is dried under the sun.this is also salty.we just cook by cooking oil or we can cook by grilling.

4. Filipino style barbecue- i just marinated with soy sauce, vinegar,lemon juice or calamansi juice , banana ketchup,and spices then grilled.
